POMAHINA IN THE SPOTLIGHT OF HAWAII BUSINESS REVIEW

Updated: Mar 24, 2020

It all started as a way to teach about Hina (Moon) and all of her elements. And although it has since evolved into so much more, PoMahina Designs is still a platform for wearers to become educated of the Hawaiian culture while wearing a wearable piece of art.

Kanoelani Davis, owner of PoMahina Designs, built her company on a foundation of values, morals and spirituality. She also is a Kumu Hula, so it was very important to her to not only ensure that the Hawaiian culture is taught to those who are willing to learn, but also to help make the Hawaiian culture THRIVE through all lives she touches. PoMahina Designs is more than just a clothing brand – it is a lifestyle that brings awareness to those who have paved the way for us now. It is our ancestors who inspire her to continue to create art that people can wear.

PoMahina Designs is based out of Moloka’i but is available to the world thru their online shop, which was recently opened in the Fall of 2017. Kanoelani has also brought PoMahina Designs to New Zealand as part of a fashion show there. She has also been a part of the New York Fashion Week – a great achievement for all of Hawai’i! Kanoelani donates a percentage of her sales to support Hawaiian political rights campaigns, such as Haleakala and Mauna Kea. She also donates to local schools and churches in Moloka’i.
